Credit Card Upgrade Complete

Please note the Credit Card Upgrade from MasterCard to Visa has taken place. If you received your new Visa credit card, please activate it as soon as possible. If you have not received your new Visa credit card, please ask a Shell FCU representative for assistance or visit any Shell FCU branch.

CreditCards Under Enhancement

Shell FCU is making exciting enhancements to its credit card program. Including a new credit card link within Online Banking, fresh card designs, the introduction of contactless cards, enriched card benefits and more!

Credit Card Upgrade FAQ - June 2020

Q: How will I view my credit card transactions, balance and information after June 19th?

A: You can now log in to Online Banking and select the Credit Card tab. The first time you log in you will need to register your credit card.

Q: How can I make my credit card payment after June 19th?

A: Please mail your payment to PO Box 660493, Dallas, Texas 75266-0493. To make your payment from a Shell FCU account, you can conduct a transfer through Online Banking, call us at (713) 844-1100 or visit any Shell FCU branch.

Q: If I was previously enrolled in eStatements am I still enrolled?

A: Yes, if you were previously enrolled in eStatements you will still be enrolled and you will receive an email notification when your eStatement is available to view. The first time you log in you will need to register your credit card.

Q: Will my previous eStatements history be available?

A: Your eStatement history will not transfer to the new site. Please contact the credit union to receive any statements you need after the transfer to the new site or download and save any statements you need prior to June 19th.

Rewards Credit Cards FAQ

Shell FCU is excited to be upgrading the benefits and website associated with your Rewards credit card! Please know you will have uninterrupted use of your Shell FCU Rewards MasterCard credit card during this transition. Plus, your Shell FCU family will be here to assist you every step of the way.

Important Information:

May 31st Will be the last day to redeem your points on the current rewards website before the transition.
June 1st All unredeemed points will be transferred to the new website. Points will continue to accumulate while we are in-between rewards websites.

Earn Additional Points:

You will still earn 1 point for every $1 spent on net credit card purchases, and you will soon be able to earn additional points for select merchant categories such as gas, groceries and dining when you receive your new Visa credit card in early September.

MasterCard to Visa Reissue FAQ - September 2020

Q: When can I expect to receive my new Visa credit card?

A: Your new enhanced Visa credit card will be mailed in September. Please call (800) 631-3197 as soon as possible to activate your card. Once your new Visa credit card is activated you can destroy your old MasterCard credit card.

Q: How will I know what the enhanced benefits of my new Visa credit card are?

A: You will receive a Visa Guide to Benefits in late September.

Q: Will my new Visa credit card have the same card number?

A: Your new Visa credit card will have a new card number. Please be sure to change any automatic payments to your new card information.

Q: Do I need to change my credit card number on any automatic payments I have set up?

A: Yes, you will need to update your card information on any automatic payments since your new Visa credit card will have a new card number, expiration date and CVV number. Please update your card information as soon as possible.

Q: What is a contactless card and how does it work?

A: The contactless symbol allows you to tap your contactless card or payment-enabled device at the checkout terminal to make a purchase. You can pay with a single tap. Look for the contactless terminal symbol when you conduct your transactions. To view a sample transaction, watch the “Using Your Contactless Card” video.

Q: Will pending transactions from my previous credit card be processed?

A: Yes, we will process your pending transactions which have been approved on your MasterCard credit card. There is no need to wait for the current transactions to process prior to activating and using your new Visa credit card.

Q: How will I be notified of unusual of suspicious credit card activity?

A: You will receive a phone call from our fraud detection center or receive an automated fraud text alert.

The introductory APR for purchases, balance transfers and cash advances will apply to transactions posted to your account during the first 12 billing cycles following the opening of your account. After the introductory period ends, your APR will be based on your creditworthiness. The variable APR will vary with the market based on the Prime Rate and will not exceed 17.99%. Based on your creditworthiness, an annual fee up to $45 may be assessed.
